    Topic: EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

    Speaker:

Dr. Christopher M. Castille is an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist and Assistant Professor of Management who teaches at Nicholls State University. His research specializes on the role of individual differences in the workplace, such as the utility of psychological assessments for hiring and coaching employees. His work has been featured in academic and practitioner outlets including the Journal of Business Ethics, Personality and Individual Differences, and Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice. His talk on emotional intelligence will focus on the long history of EI science in academic research, its popularity (at least since the 90s), and the relative importance of EI compared to other individual differences that are commonly assessed in the workplace (e.g., cognitive intelligence, personality traits).
