    The presentation will provide an overview of OSHA's role in prevention and elimination of work-related hazards, an update on current compliance issues and information on how to obtain available compliance assistance resurces.  

    Alexander Novas, Compliance Assistance Specialist

    Alex Novas joined the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 1991 as a Compliance Officer in the Baton Rouge Area Office.  After serving as an Assistant Area Director he became a Compliance Assistance Specialist in 2007.  His duties include administering the Strategic Partnership and Alliance cooperative programs, while also overseeing and conducting audits for the Voluntary Protection Program. In addition, he travels throughout the state of Louisiana providing advice, education, and training to businesses, labor organizations, and other associations to encourage voluntary compliance with OSHA’s safety and health standards.  Alex is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of Louisiana State University.
